Greece Struggles to Reach Olympics' Finish Line

The Greeks began building the Parthenon around 447 BC and finished 9 years later in 438 BC. . .Do you think they had machines, cranes, or financial trouble?

The "classic" quotation is that work "stopped, because the contractor encountered financial trouble." If it's all Greek to you, it's because you haven't experienced the true nature of Greece. I wandered around some of these same constructions two years ago (there was no security). Progress is slow...but that's the Greek way. At least you're guaranteed a great party....
