A host with a lisp.

I don't intend to be cruel, but....

here in Chicago, our NPR station hosts a show called Eight Forty-Eight. Anyway, one of the host/producers of the show happens to have a very thick lisp. As much as I don't like to admit it, it really does bug me. (Note: I tried to find an audio clip, but I can't. I'll keep checking back to see if one comes up.) I mean, yes, yes, yes, what a success story - I'm sure at some point someone told this host she couldn't do it, but she defied the odds and ... ... Personally, I'm not sure you can be a good radio host when you have a thick lisp (assuming a characteristic of a good radio personality is a voice that people like to hear, and assuming further that people generally don't prefer a lisp-laden voice). Bully for her, and all that... I guess I just find it an odd programming choice.
