This site notes a doctored quote in the New York Times. Instapundit has some comments here.

Apparently this type of thing is kinda-sorta ok in journalism. Sure isn't ok in legal writing, though. I like our policy better (go figure). Once you delve into doctoring, you're bound to abuse that discretion sometimes.

UPDATE: I guess doctoring isn't kinda-sorta ok with the Times, at least in this instance. They've corrected the problem. A blogger made a difference! (from Instapundit)
