McCain: Congress spending money 'like a drunken sailor' - CNN

Somewhere, Popeye is crying.

McCain's one-liner reminds me of the famous vicarious liability case in torts, Ira S Bushey & Sons, Inc v United States, 398 F 2d 167 (CA 2 1968), in which a drunken sailor twisted the ships tank valves, causing the ship to fall into a dock. Who pays for the damage? Not the sailor, but the U.S. as his employer.

So who pays for our government spending? Not the Congressmen, but their boss, which is US. See the similarities? See how idiotic this post is?

Speaking of sailors, Master & Commander is just plain great. They don't make movies like this anymore, but they should. I'll be watching Horatio Hornblower this week to see if he stacks up.

UPDATE: Scrappleface is on it.
